Your Holiday's with CBD
The holiday season is here and many of us are feeling the stress. Before you know it, Thanksgiving will be over, and then it’s on to Hanukkah and Christmas. We have work and family parties to attend, gifts to buy, recipes to make, and pets to take care of. If you have children, multiply these problems by the number of kids you have. Even with all the chaos that descends around the holidays, our health doesn’t have to take the back seat and suffer. Plan some time for yourself. There are a lot of factors during the holiday season that you can’t control, but one thing you can take charge over is your self-care routine.
Prioritize “me time” and say hello to the holidays!
Self-care is crucial to making it through the crazy holiday season. Taking time away from the crazy, allows you to stay grounded and be your best self. Ignore the voices saying you don’t have the time or that putting yourself first is selfish. Taking care of yourself enables you to help others more, so pencil in some “me time” and say hello to the holidays! There are many ways we can take charge and be proactive about our health during this time of year.
5 ways to a truly happy holiday
1. Add CBD (to everything)
Add CBD to your morning coffee or juice, whip up some CBD snacks, or keep the tincture nearby and take a dropper full as needed. However you can incorporate it into your daily routines, do it!
Too many Christmas cookies, too much holiday turkey, whichever. Insert whatever your vice is – if you’re left feeling overly stuffed and bloated, then this one is for you!
CBD interacts with our endocannabinoid system (ECS). Our ECS is a series of receptors throughout the body which help mitigate the negative effects of too many holiday treats. While the glutinous dinner we eat won’t digest any faster, bringing our body back into balance should at least help with the symptoms of too many goodies.
If you really want to be prepared, start off your day with a high-quality CBD tincture to activate your ECS in preparation for your holiday plans (or meals).
2. Keep your body moving
Block out thirty minutes to move your body and let your mind be at ease, even if it’s at the end of the day. Move for twenty minutes, meditate for ten. Exercise has another positive benefit – getting you out of the house. It is a great way to avoid stressful situations while getting your body moving and off the couch.
There’s something really incredible about meditating after working out. If you’re new to meditating, there are several apps that can help get your started. The thing to always remember with meditating is that it is okay when your mind wanders. Meditation is about training your brain to stay present; which means that on the journey of meditating, your mind is certain to wander.
3. Don’t do the same old, spice things up
If you’ve been doing the same thing for ages – seeing the same people and staying the same places simply because that’s how you’ve always done it – consider re-imagining your approach to the holidays altogether, even if it’s just for this year.
It isn’t always possible to make everyone happy — and trying to make everyone happy can be a major source of holiday stress — so make sure you have some commitment-free time, book an appointment or two with a good therapist if you need some extra help, and go easy on yourself.
And skip Grandma’s cookies. They won’t work as well as CBD oil, and they’re full of sugar – save your sugar allowance for that one holiday dessert you know how to make better than anyone.
4. Take intimacy to the next level
If you’re female-bodied, natural secretions can dry out or sometimes not be sufficient due to menopause or certain medications. Lube closes that gap and make sex with a penis or a toy glide much easier. Also, lube is an absolute requirement for comfortable anal sex. The butt doesn’t self-lubricate, so you need lube to make the glide in and out comfortable and friction free. Speaking of friction, lube reduces the chances for micro-tears in the vagina or anus, which can be a culprit of bacterial infections and that’s definitely a good thing.
Most condoms come with some lubricant on the inside to make fitting it on a penis much smoother. But, did you know that if you put a drop of lube into the tip/well of the condom before putting it on, it can increase a penises enjoyment of sex. The extra lube gives the inside of the condom a little more slip, making the condom feel better.
5. Party of One? No Problem
Most people don’t think of lube when they are about to masturbate, and they are missing out. Lube makes a vulva immediately able to receive fingers or toys without warming up beforehand … so you can enjoy the process of warming-up yourself. If you’re using lube with toys, just make sure to use a water-based lube as silicone can damage silicone toys. For penises, lube is much longer lasting (and hygienic) than spit and less irritating than lotion.
Personal lubricant makes insertion possible without pain of dry sex or the chance of micro-tears. So, go ahead and have that quickie! Lube has you covered.
Bonus: a gift idea
And, if you’re like us, with the holidays just a couple of weeks away, you might be stressing about what to get your friends, significant other (or even a gift for yourself). Why not give them the gift of increased pleasure … lube! Yes, personal lubricant makes everything better.
